Water - Evaluation and utilization of the water resource

Background

Using water generally needs to meet two requirements: satisfy increasing needs for supply and production processes (industrial, farming, medical, leisure) and preserve the quality of water and the environment. This use calls for the water resource to be identified, defined, managed and protected. In addition, the new formulation of the French law, the 'Code de l’Environnement, le Code de la Santé Publique et la Loi sur l’Eau', requires a sound grasp of local regulations and constraints to implement increasingly technical operations within a global approach which respects the environment.
